The extreme rusticity acquired by generations dedicated to traction, makes it possible these cows as well to spend 5 months in mountain pasture (in altitude, with strong variations in temperatures), in vast herds, delivered to themselves, to make profitable the intensive zones of the plains of the Garonne. While having reduced maintenance costs, the Gascon one produces a calf by cow and per annum, in particular thanks to its maternal qualities. Its meat of a savour and an exceptional smoothness, coupled with the presence of a RED LABEL Gascon Ox (certifying a breeding of quality and traditional type) does nothing but accentuate its fame. The genetic selection tries to improve existing it: breast feeding, rusticity, fruitfulness, the quality of the meat. SERIES 2007/2008: A PROMISING VINTAGE

The growth rate target of 1200 g / day has been reached; the even quality of the calves at entry has been proven. The rigorous selection at entry is always a guarantee of security for potential buyers. 52% of calves assessed spent their first summer in the high pastures of the mountains, 72% are bred from cows 'recommandée' and 82% from bulls assessed in the station or their offspring (SVR). All types of bulls will be available on April 2. 50% of the calves do not carry the mh gene ; this proportion is improving constantly without loss of good conformation.

 New: First show and sale of top quality heifers, prepared and shown by the Agricultural College of Pamiers.

Also: a chance to sample Gascon beef in the restaurant at the Fêtes of Villeneuve de Paréage from 11:30 to 13:30.
